Cat

Species: Snare Fox (Undescribed species)

Gender/pronouns: Female (vixen fox); she/her

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

Cat is a curious, and friendly fox who always attempts tenaciously to see the best in everything, no matter how bleak the Post-Silence World may be. She is deeply fascinated by the strange items and shelters left behind by the mythical "humans" that once dotted so much of the world, a fascination she enjoys and shares with her best friend, Dog. She can be prone to rash decisions at times, but is nonetheless fiercely protective of those she feels close to. Though Cat may seem courageous (at least in comparison to Dog, that is) and rather open to conversing with the other surviving beings, she is internally tormented by a horrendous past she desperately wants to forget.

Dog

Species: Snare Fox (Undescribed species)

Gender/pronouns: Male (dog fox); he/him

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

A bit of a worrywart, Dog is an incredibly timid and shy fox who scares very easily. Often seen as quiet and cold, or even intimidating by some, he is very mild mannered and can be quick to find reasons to distrust other beings after a particularly troubled past. Regardless, he is incredibly loyal to those he is able to feel close to. Much like his best friend Cat, he has a deep fascination with the mythical "humans", often excitedly talking at length about how much "safer" the Pre-Silence World was with her when the opportunity arises.

Rebirth Horse

Species: Custodian, of an unclear category

Gender/pronouns: Genderless/agender; they/them (or sometimes it/its).

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

Who, or rather, what exactly is Rebirth Horse? They don't even seem to know the answer themself! All that does seem to be evident about this peculiar, seemingly very lax Custodian is that they are a very powerful being but would rather spend time taking naps in old human dwellings or meadows than worry too much about any obligations. Despite how unusual and at times ominously vague they are, Rebirth Horse seems to have taken an immediate liking to their new foxy companions, Cat and Dog. Yet, there could be something hiding deep beneath their ethereal body that is not supposed to be there...

Act

Species: Dog; Border collie (Canis familiaris)

Gender/pronouns: Some form of non-binary; they/them.

First appearance: Episode 2-The Beetle Collie

Act was once the beloved pet dog of a family of humans, that is until the Silent Apocalypse happened and their human family was erased. Jaded and quite snappy, Act feels an immense sense of grief over the loss of their human companions and feels they failed them, not helped by their at times blunt demanour of Act's beetle companion, Dhh. Yet, underneath their prickly exterior, there is a very soft (and incredibly lonely) side to Act.

Dhh

Species: Actaeon beetle or rhinoceros beetle (Megasoma actaeon), partially a hybrid Custodian

Gender/pronouns: Agender insect; it/its.

First appearance: Episode 2-The Beetle Collie

A rhinoceros beetle with mysterious metaphysical capabilities, Dhh is the at-times stern and no-nonsense insect companion of Act, with whom it crossed paths with at some point after the Silent Apocalypse. In spite of itd rigid and very assertive manner, Dhh does seemingly deep down care deeply about Act, even if it is not always able to show this well.

The Monarch Swarm

Species: Unconfirmed/Unknown

Gender/pronouns: Variable

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

Nobody left really seems to know what the Monarch Swarm is... or rather, by the time any being does learn, it's already far too late. The surviving beings from the Pre-Silence World say the Swarm first appeared many seasons ago, whilst others suggest it emerged more recently. Regardless, much of the world has been startlingly quiet since it reared its many limbs and heads, its many screeches preceding the unthinkable silence that inevitably follows. Whatever it may be, the Monarch Swarm has an insatiable hunger to devour what remains of the world, with no sense of self behind its many eyes, mouths and appendages.
