Cat

Species: Snare Fox; Stray Being (Undescribed species)

Gender/pronouns: Female (vixen fox); she/her

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

A curious and frendly fox, Cat is a being who is a perennial optimist, always endeavouring to see the best in everything-even in the bleak landscape of the Post-Silence World. She has a deep fascination with the topic of the Pre-Silence World, especially the various "treasures" and shelters that the animals known as humans had left behind. Energetic and excitable, she can at times be prone to losing sight of what is important or making rash decisions that do not always end well. Nonetheless, Cat is incredibly loyal to those that she feels close to, especially her best friend Dog. Though she has such an optimistic and stoic demeanour, she is haunted by certain memories that she desperately wants to forget...

Dog

Species: Snare Fox; Stray Being (Undescribed species)

Gender/pronouns: Male (dog fox); he/him

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

A bit of a worrywart, Dog is an incredibly timid and shy fox who scares very easily. After a certain event from his past, Dog is very quick to find reasons to distrust other beings. He is often seen as quiet and cold, or even intimidating by some, but in truth Dog is in fact an incredibly gentle and sensitive soul. His best friend is Cat, whom is the only being he feels truly understands him, even sharing the same deep interest in the Pre-Silence World and how much "safer" it must have been to live in. Even though he adores his best friend Cat, Dog is occasionally at odds with her more erratic decisions.

Rebirth Horse

Species: Custodian (Undescribed species)

Gender/pronouns: Genderless/agender; they/them (or sometimes it/its).

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

Who, or rather, what exactly is Rebirth Horse? They don't even seem to know the answer themself! All that does seem to be evident about this peculiar, seemingly very lax Custodian is that they are a very powerful being but would rather spend time taking naps in old human dwellings or meadows than worry too much about any obligations. Despite how unusual and at times ominously vague they are, Rebirth Horse seems to have taken an immediate liking to their new foxy companions, Cat and Dog; they are insistent on the two foxes joining them in a journey to "replenish what was lost" by reaching The Land Beyond. Yet, there could be something hiding deep beneath Rebirth Horse's ethereal body that is not supposed to be there...

Act

Species: Dog; Border collie (Canis lupus familiaris)

Gender/pronouns: Some form of non-binary; they/them.

First appearance: Episode 2-The Beetle Collie

Act is a border collie with an affinity for beetles. They were once the beloved pet dog of a family of humans living on a farm, that is until the Silent Apocalypse happened and their human family was erased, with Act the only survivor. Jaded and prickly, Act feels an immense sense of grief over the loss of their human companions and feels that they failed them, not helped by the at-times blunt demanour of Act's beetle companion, Dhh. Yet, underneath their cold and prickly exterior, there is an incredibly compassionate and protective side to Act.

Dhh

Species: Actaeon beetle or rhinoceros beetle (Megasoma actaeon)

Gender/pronouns: Agender insect; it/its.

First appearance: Episode 2-The Beetle Collie

A rhinoceros beetle with mysterious metaphysical capabilities, Dhh is the at-times stern and no-nonsense insect companion of Act, with whom it crossed paths with at some point after the Silent Apocalypse. In spite of its rigid and very assertive manner, Dhh does seemingly deep down care deeply about Act, even if it is not always able to show this well; its adamant insistence on fulfilling a certain "purpose" may not be entirely be what it seems...

The Monarch Swarm

Species: Unconfirmed

Gender/pronouns: Variable/Unknown

First appearance: Episode 1-Our Friend Rebirth Horse

Nobody left in the Post-Silence World really seems to know what the Monarch Swarm is... or rather, by the time any being does learn, it's already far too late. Much of the world has been startlingly quiet since this vast eusocial parasite reared its many limbs and heads, its unearthly screeches and fury preceding the once unthinkable silence that inevitably follows. Whatever it may be, the Monarch Swarm has an insatiable hunger to devour what remains of the world, with no sense of self behind its many eyes, mouths and appendages. How did it succeed in invading the world in the first place...?
