Dr. Gil Ducktor is many things, but most paramount of all are these truths: an extremely talented pathologist who has developed a peculiar but effective working hypothesis to prevent pathogenesis, an anthropomorphic waterfowl of some partially unclear definition, and perhaps most of all, a fan of British 1990s children's puppet show, Rosie and Jim.

To celebrate his talents, the famous UFO-shaped branch of McDonald's in Alconbury, England is going to be the venue of much merriment and excitement-a ceremony dedicated to Ducktor and his tireless contributions to human medical science. One problem stands in the way of the doctor-it is the eve of the celebrations and he still hasn't written his acceptance speech, as he was far too busy watching his VHS copy of Rosie and Jim: Flying and Other Stories!

In a race against time, can a dedicated group of friends, acquaintances and even Ducktor's old archnemesis in the form of an animated life insurance mascot, each telling a story of personal hardship eventually being overcome valiantly, convince him to stop singing the Rosie and Jim theme song and finally put pen to paper?
