Into the Domain of Fox Plushes

Please note that this page is still very much under construction and a work in progress. It is going to be expanded upon and revised in the coming weeks or whenever I am able to in my current capacity.

To-do list as of June 2024

  • Get all of the photos together for my foxes, and write the corresponding descriptions.
  • Also collate and add some of the additional images and material I intend to add here.

Since I was the smallest, first-instar larvalkit bugfox, I have always had a major special interest in canids (both wild and domesticated, though the former especially) with foxes being the most paramount of them all. There's a lot to adore and be fascinated by in my view, far more than I could ever hope to summarise in this opening paragraph (or indeed this very singular webpage). Another lifelong special interest of mine is plush toys, and I have always enjoyed the company of plushes since I was a tiny bugfox. It seemed inevitable that these two special interests would eventually form a symbiosis and develop into me collecting a sizeable plethora of soft, snuggly foxes, even as an adult bugfox!

The purpose of this pocket realm in the Digital Forest is to serve as a sanctuary for my collection of fox plushes, where you can meet them, whilst I make excited bugfox noises that are transcribed to text and posted upon this webpage, for you to look at with your eyes (or listen to with a text-to-speech reader if you do that at all, it's all good)!

(This image of Herschel Krustofsky from The Simpsons is a placeholder, he'll be out of here soon don't worry!!)

The foxes themselves!!

Below you will find a sizable sample of the plush foxes in my collection; do note however this is not all of them, as I do as alluded to have a sizable number of them in the Sanctuary! Also note that I will be including any plushes I have of the not-quite True Fox species that are nonetheless members of the Vulpini tribal taxon (such as the raccoon dog Nyctereutes), as well as any plushes I have of fox Pokemon (namely Eevee)!

Descriptions to be added as follows:

  • Name: Fen
  • Gender: Androgynous fox (they/them)
  • Species: Vulpes zerda, fennec fox
  • Brand: Wildlife Artists
  • Notes: Fen is one of my dearest and most beloved plush foxies. I have had them for over a decade, when I had received them as a gift. We've been through a lot together over the years and I love them dearly. <3

  • Name: Lucy
  • Gender: Vixen fox (she/her)
  • Species: Vulpes zerda, fennec fox
  • Brand: Wild Republic
  • Notes: Lucy is another old plush fox friend of mine, whom I have had for many years. I got her around the same time as Fen, and she is their mom.

  • Name: Pepper (nicknamed Plushper)
  • Gender: Androgynous (they/them)
  • Species: Vulpes vulpes, red fox (silver/melanistic morph)
  • Brand: Douglas Cuddle Toys
  • Notes: One of my very favourite foxies, and what I would in all probability resemble in plush form!

  • Name: Cinnabar
  • Gender: Vixen fox (she/her)
  • Species: Vulpes vulpes, red fox
  • Brand: Ravensden
  • Notes: The guardian of my one of my bookcases! Also she has a lovely fluffy tail that is wonderfully soft and snuggly.

  • Name: Toby
  • Gender: Male basal vulpine (he/him)
  • Species: Nyctereutes procyonoides, raccoon dog/tanuki
  • Brand: Sunlemon
  • Notes: A big tanuki plush! He is the guardian of my computer desk and often gets headpats for always doing a good job of taking care of things there!
  • Name: Fennec
  • Gender: NB (they/them)
  • Species: Eevee (which I adamantly headcanon as Vulpes zerda, or fennec fox)
  • Brand: Pokémon Center Japan
  • Notes: Named after what I had chosen to name my Partner character from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky when I played it as a teenager, who was indeed an Eevee! (The partner character in Explorers is an absolute sweetie and I would gladly throw aspic at anyone who is mean to them!!)

  • Name: Friday
  • Gender: Vixen fox (she/her)
  • Species: Vulpes zerda, fennec fox
  • Brand: Aurora
  • Notes: An adventurous little foxy, she often sits in my bag when I go out to keep me company or offer support whilst I wear a human costume to disguise me being a bugfox. Friday is very helpful at grounding me when I experience sensory overload!

  • Name: Eevee
  • Gender: Dog fox (he/him)
  • Species: Vulpes zerda, fennec fox
  • Brand: Aurora
  • Notes: A little fennec fox who also sometimes joins me and Friday as a companion when we take trips out. Not quite as adventurous as his friend Friday as he often prefers to stay at the den, but still good company when he does venture out.

  • Name: Camio
  • Gender: Dog fox (he/him)
  • Species: Vulpes vulpes, red fox
  • Brand: Living Nature
  • Notes: Named after the deuteragonist character from my all-time favourite fiction book, Hunter's Moon by Garry Kilworth. :3
